Houston House Hotel Wedding

It’s been a long time since Jiggered last performed at Houston House, near Edinburgh. We had a vague memory that we liked it as a venue and this was confirmed when we arrived last night- it was lovely.

The evening went really well: from the smooth set-up and sound check, to Louise and John’s first dance, to the enthusiastic ceilidh dancing, to the yummy stovies at the break, to the big finish (Loch Lomond, an arch as the newlyweds left through an arch, Orchadian Strip the Willow and Auld Lang Syne).

A cautionary tale: if you’re ever filling up at a petrol station when a bus-full of girls unload from a hen night get out as soon as you can. I survived just such an incident before last night’s ceilidh (only just!).
