Jiggered In Edinburgh With 160 Mathematicians

Last night, Jiggered Ceilidh Band were performing at Edinburgh’s Marriott Hotel for 160 Mathematicians from 55 different countries. They had gathered to set questions for the Kangourou Sans Frontieres– a tough Maths competition taken by 4 million students across Europe. With only a few Scots (including local Maths legends Prof Adam McBride OBE and Mary Theresa Fyfe) there to demonstrate the ceilidh dances, Emma had her work cut out but it was an excellent evening. Loads of enthusiasm and appreaciation from a superb crowd. We were even given wee medalions at the end of the night…

No-one mentioned the fact I was wearing my “Pi” TShirt!

Thanks to the UKMT’s Rachel Greenhalgh for booking us up and to Kitty Kilday for the recommendation.
