Abbie and Ludi’s Big Day
Last month we had the privilege of performing at Abbie and Ludi’s big day at Dalduff Farm, Ayrshire.
Highlights included the rustic, farm-style venue, a surprise mash-up in the St Bernard’s Waltz with the Father Ted theme tune, and some fantastic pizza while the dancers took a well deserved half-time rest!
Abbie’s mum, Rosemary, had booked us for another event which unfortunately fell during the covid lockdowns, so it was great to be able to finally perform for her family! Here’s a snippet of some of the lovely feedback we received from her afterwards:
I can't believe that nearly four weeks have gone by since Abbie & Ludi's wedding; it's flown by in a whirl of visitors, flowers, presents and happy exhaustion! Thank you again SO much for playing at their ceilidh! Everyone had a great time and we were delighted that so many people were really up for having a go. Also slightly relieved that we didn't have to stretcher anyone off after Loch Lomond!!!
The first dance was gorgeous, not a dry eye in the house to Go Lassie Go. Glad we then changed into the Bavarian dirndl dresses for the ceilidh dancing, they were much more practical than our wedding outfits. I don't think Abbie and Ludi sat down all evening - they were determined to do all the dances and I think they did. Also, thanks a million for Father Ted! - the Tedfans in the group were creased up, we'll never see the St Bernard Waltz in the same light again! And there were some good violin players amongst the guests who really loved Susan's fiddle solo.
It was a great day and thank you for playing such a big part in its success - we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!
All the best, Abbie and Ludi!
